The ADT2500 is a virtual automobile with the ability to introduce faults. The virtual car includes a true simulation of a functional engine, accessible by an interactive user interface. The software creates a realistic 'look and feel', similar to what a student will experience in a shop, without the risk of injury from heat, and moving parts. Available faults, are ranked by three levels of difficulty. The teacher can monitor and review every diagnostic step the student takes through the Learning Management System (LMS).
ADT2500 consists of two parts: the Virtual Engine Simulator and the Learning Management System (LMS). The instructor uses the LMS to manage the training of each student. He can assess the completed sessions by student and comment on the diagnostic procedures employed by each individual.
